Budget destinations for kickass bachelor/bachelorette trips

Planning a wedding is a full time job for the bride and groom alike. The coordination, appointments and the decisions on outfits, décor, guest lists, all of it gets a bit too overwhelming. You need a couple of days or atleast a weekend out with your friends, away from the wedding madness!

This getaway needs to be fun and stress free! We’ve lined up a couple of affordable yet amazing destinations for your bachelor/bachelorette!

#1: Koh Samui

A coastal area in Thailand, Samui is quite convenient to get to with a flight via Bangkok or Singapore! This destination works for guys and girls both! Thailand is heaven for sea-food lovers with the tiniest of street restaurants serving the best crabs, lobsters, mussels, clams and fish. Along with a good nightlife, Koh Samui has plenty to do during the day as well!

Since you’re getting away with reasonable air fare, splurge and book a private yacht for a couple of hours in the day. These boats have a bar and lunch on board for you, with snorkeling and kayaking equipment as well.

Chaweng beach is the area to stay at when traveling with friends or cousins. Drink and smoke sheesha at the popular Ark Bar and party at the Green Mango club on a weekend. If your dates match the Full Moon Party in Koh Phangan, the island is just a 40 mins speedboat ride away.

#2: Koh Phi Phi

A small island off the coast of Krabi, is accessible by ferry from the shore. This little island is easily covered on foot and doesn’t allow vehicles in most parts. Narrow walking lanes with restaurants, bars, massage places and shops on both sides describes Phi Phi. It’s the best island to be at with your friends, and forget about the world outside.

Boat trips and island hopping excursions are also an attraction at this island.

#3: Bali

Bali has something for every kind of friend. For the ocean lover to the low key member of your bachelor/bachelorette; Bali is the land of beaches, great food, a crazy party scene and a heap of outdoor activities for that adrenaline boost.

You could easily spend your day at the ocean, also fulfilling your urge to party in a budget at this island. Get a ticket to the Jiggy Boat Party Gili (previously called the Drunken Monkeyz), be at sea with a 100 other people there to party and don’t miss their after party back at shore.

Bali offers its fair share of outdoor fun from hiking, white-water rafting, scuba diving, mountain biking, quad biking, or pretty much anything that interests you and your squad!

#4: Goa

Our country’s party destination! A trip to Goa can be as fun as one abroad. The Baga-Calangute beach stretch will always remain the party scene of this state, but our opinion is to venture into the newer, cleaner Vagator.

Firstly, you want to stay in North Goa when traveling with friends! Book a budget hotel around Vagator and spend a sundown or two at Thallasa, a Greek bar at the cliff. Grab a meal at La Plage and if time permits, go back to Infantaria cafe in Baga for breakfast one morning. Watch the sunset at Curlies shack in Anjuna with some sheesha and beers.

We also recommend you spend a day at Arambol’s sweet water lake, about a 20 minutes walk from the closest parking spot.

#5: Budapest

Sounds steep, but if the air ticket budget can be pushed up by a bit, Budapest as a city is quite an affordable place to be partying at. Walk the streets for some culture, or simple hire a beer bike and cruise through! Quad biking, a riverboat cruise in the Danube, a speedboat tour, pistol shooting and go-karting are some of your day activities in this city.

The night takes you to casinos, a night time boat party on the Danube and both downtown Budapest and the outskirts are full of bars and clubs.

Check out the Spa Parties in the Széchenyi in the summer months and the Magic Bath parties in the Lukács during the cold season.

It’s easier to plan a bachelor/bachelorette when you have friends with similar interests, but it’s key to remember that you can’t make everyone happy every day of the trip! So just make sure, you as the bride or the groom are having a blast as this is the countdown to your new life!
